Section Mgmt


Section Mgmt identifies the units, working groups and supporters of Hayling Scouts and is used by

  • Member profiles on the web site to link the person to a section / role
  • Section News pages to build and display meeting & Leader information
  • Section Documents & Section Messages to link them to the applicable section(s)
  • Resource & Activity Bookings
  • Event Information to make the information available to the appropriate people (e.g. Sections, Group, Families, Friends)
  • Event Bookings (e.g. Section / Group Camps)

When Logged In, there are 3 display options

  • Sections - lists all sections that have been registered. This can be:-
    • A uniformed youth sections (e.g. Aspen, Mars etc)
    • A formal uniformed Adult section (e.g. Network, Active Support)
    • Other Uniformed Roles (e.g. GSL, AGSL, general) not covered by the above
    • A Support team (e.g. GDT, Service Crew)
    • Other - Family Members, Friends etc.
  • Groups - Groupings of sections with a common interest. Each section belongs to one of the following
    • Our youth sections by Beavers, Cubs etc
    • Adult Sections (e.g. Network)
    • Other Uniformed Roles
    • Support Units
    • All Other Sections
  • Contacts - Contact details for key roles in the Group. These are extracted from our member profiles, used to login to our site

Adding, changing, removing information

  • Leaders identified to a section can change the following for their section
    • Meeting days and times
    • Leaders and Young Leaders who work with the section
  • Other changes, additions and deletions can only be made by the GSL (or webadmin)
