Advance Notice Event: Annual Awards and Presentations Join us for a special evening as part of our 100th Birthday. You will hear from some of our Explorers on what it takes to become a Queen's Scout and also a day in their lives at Windsor Castle as part of the special St George's Day Parade for Queen's Scout Award holders. We will also have an update from Alistair and Jordan on their final preparations to join 40,000 other Scouts from across the world at the World Scout Jamboree and also hear more about the 100th Birthday events and the changes we are making within the Group to ensure Scouting continues to develop on Hayling Island. Quote from a couple of years ago, "I only came along to see my son receive a special award but had a really great evening, not typical of Annual Meetings. It was relaxed, fun and amazing at what Hayling Scouts get up to". Centenary Camp only 3 weeks away Just a reminder that any outstanding money and pink health forms are required in the next few days. Sunrise Day (August 1st 2007) A day not to be missed! |
Scouts Complete Expedition
The Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders of Lion Scout Troop completed a 20km expedition in the New Forest during the early May holiday weekend. The expedition was organised by Jake Whistlecraft for his Chief Scout's Award personal challenge and the 8 who took part returned tired but enthusiastic about what they had achieved. Learning more about themselves and also working with each other in teams continues to be a key part of the Scout training. Weekly Trek Cart pulling. "I am confident they will complete the full 15 miles on May 20th", says Ed! Beavers visit Station Theatre It would seem there are a lot of budding actors in the Colony. | Next Book Sale Our book sales are widely acknowledged as one of the best in the area and we normally have people travelling from across Hampshire and West Sussex just to buy books of their choice. Langstone Harbour Walk Sunday 20th May 2007 Our Beavers and Cubs will complete about 5 miles, whilst our Scouts and Explorers are planning the full 15 miles - with Trek Cart in tow! You should have all received a letter in the last couple of weeks with details for this walk. If in doubt then either visit our website at www.haylingscouts.org.uk and select "Parents Letter" or speak to your leader. Remember all proceeds will help with the cost of our centenary activities. |
Beavers Invested at Linda's House I wonder what people driving and walking past thought to see all of Redwood Beavers looking smart in their uniforms and also the many Parents who were there to watch and pick up their Children. Well Done Linda.
