Special Awards for Mandy & Phil

Report Date 28/04/14

Each year Scouting recognises Adults who have given exceptional Service to the movement. Recipients of these St George's Day Awards are invited to Windsor Castle to join in with a special Service in St George's Chapel and then witness the parade of all those who have gained the Queen's Scout Award during the past year. These celebrations take place in the presence of HRH the Duke of Kent and Bear Grylls, the Chief Scout.

It was therefore with great delight that we learnt of the award of the "Bar to the Silver Acorn" to both Mandy Hawke and Phil Blosse, who this weekend joined in with the Windsor Celebrations.

The awards given for "Further Specially Distinguished Service" reflect the tremendous contribution given by both Mandy and Phil to Scouting on Hayling Island and Havant District over many years.

The Awards will be formally presented by the County Commissioner for Hampshire at our 85th Birthday weekend.
