Report Date 23/05/13

The "David Baker Award" was first presented in 1996 and is made to a uniformed member of the Hayling Scouts who best demonstrates their commitment to our Scout Law's and Promise. The trophy was presented to the Group by Jane and Tony Baker in commemoration of their son David who had shown great spirit and determination over many years despite suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.

This year the award was presented by Tony Baker to Peter Goddard who has completed nearly 45 years as a Leader in the Group. Throughout his time as a Leader Pete has always placed an emphasis on the Scout Law and Promise in all he does and also in the way he instructs and helps the Scouts.

There must be thousnads of young people who have benfited from Pete's commitment, dedication and skills over his years as a Leader.

Well done Pete on this thoroughly deserved recognition.
