Queen Scout's Award for Charles

Many congratulations to Charles Harrison who was presented with his Queen Scout's Award the highest award that can be gained by the youth membership of Scouting.

To complete the Award Charles has to undertake a new physical activity (Rock Climbing), a 9 month community service (with a Church Youth Group), attend a residential training course (Charles spent a year with the Church Youth Enterprise and completed leadership training with them) and complete a 5 day expedition in rough country (Exmoor).

On presenting the award, Dick Whittington the County Commissioner for Hampshire congratulated Charles on his achievement and commented that this award represents the pinnacle of Charles' Scouting career to date.

The presentation consisted of a badge and a certificate signed by the Queen. Dick also presented Charles with the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award which he completed at the same time.
