Explorer Scouts
Aged 14 to 18

The Explorer Scout section was introduced in 2002 as part of the overall Programme Review of the Scout Association. The section recognises the needs of today's 14 to 18 year old.

The programme of the section is determined and organised as far as possible by the members themselves, with the adult leaders acting as additional resources or assisting in finding the required skills to meet the requirements of the programme.

Explorer Scouts have their own award scheme leading to the Queen Scout's Award and will often also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
